"Katie Kim - Twelve - the debut solo album from katie sullivan is a beautifully intimate collection of songs centred around sullivans beautifully husky voice. The album has a similar kind of intimacy to the likes of Mazzy Star with hints of the early aggression of PJ Harvey or the more folky based late night feel of Cat Power. The album features some lovely background instrumentation with subtle touches of slide guitar, brushed drums and mellow electronic effects. Its that kind of eclectic collection that reminds of the glory days of labels like 4AD and their collaborative This Mortal Coil projects. It really is a wonderful collection of laid back late night sounds featuring a voice to die for "

"Cover And Flood conjures an atmosphere that's instantly familiar. Staying in character for the duration, she immerses the listener in her world for 50 minutes, transporting them from the mundaneness of an overcrowded 8.45am train to the dark of a high-ceilinged townhouse in the throes of night, with just a few well places strings and ethereal vocals. Or in the case of the haunting Habits, a plinky-plonky piano that someone's dead grandmother probably played. It shows the talent is there, but the Waterford lady's passion is in idea-forming, not in tidying up for any record companies that might be passing through her basement recordings. It indicates that not one sound is there by accident, it's been pored over. It proves she's an artist of the purest kind, a visionary."
